Golf Tournament Winnings Enable Firm's Generous Contribution to The New York Sheriff's Institute (NYSSI) and Dutchess County Sheriff's Foundation

MONTICELLO, NEW YORK- July 24, 2023- Local law firm, Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law raised $50,000 at their recent golf and gamble overnight fundraiser to be shared between two charities selected by Sheriff Mike Schiff of Sullivan County and Sheriff Kirk Imperati of Dutchess County. Yesterday, the law firm presented the official donation check to Sheriff Schiff in the amount of $25,000.

Sullivan County Sheriff Mike Schiff plans to contribute the $25,000 donation to help fund the New York State Sheriffs’ Institute summer camp located in Keuka Lake in Yates County. The action-packed camp was established for boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 12 who, because of economic reasons, would not have an opportunity to attend summer camp. After a week of new eye-opening experiences, the campers, who do not know that the chaperones are members of law enforcement, are shocked and excited when their new mentors appear wearing their police uniforms on the last day of camp. The innovative program helps to build campers’ competence and confidence, while they make new friends and become more aware of their natural and social environments. “Rutberg Breslow has been so helpful with our programming over the years, and we’re very grateful to have a relationship with them," remarked Sheriff Mike Schiff. “This $25,000 donation will help offset the costs of some ongoing facility and recreational improvements that will enhance the overall experience for our kids who otherwise wouldn’t have access to this type of experience,” added Schiff.

The first annual golf & gamble tournament was hosted by Rutberg Breslow Injury Law at the Monster Golf Course in Monticello last month and included an overnight stay at Resorts World Catskills. Partnered with the Sullivan County Sheriff and Dutchess County Sheriff, and with the support of Chuck Benfer of Pamal Broadcasting, they garnered substantial support from the community and participants, and raised a substantial sum towards two great causes surrounding law enforcement.

"We are honored to stand with our law enforcement community and find it incredibly rewarding to contribute to such worthy causes," expressed Larry Breslow, Managing Partner at Rutberg Breslow. “The tournament was a great day of fun, and more importantly, a great day of fundraising.”

Over the span of the legal lion’s more than 100 combined years of service, Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law has remained committed to making a positive impact on our community beyond just providing legal representation for personal injuries.
