Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River Seeks Nominees for Water Safety Challenge Coin Awards
BEACH LAKE, PA – Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River invites members of the public to submit nominations for the park’s Water Safety Challenge Coin Award Program. The program recognizes individuals, organizations, or groups who go above and beyond to keep others safe on the river.
Challenge coins are traditionally issued to recognize recipients for their excellence and hardwork. Upper Delaware S&RR will recognize members of the river community who assist in river rescues, remove river hazards, and perform other actions that improve safety on the Upper Delaware by presenting them with the Upper Delaware exclusive Water Safety Challenge Coin.
“Safety on the Upper Delaware cannot be accomplished by one organization or entity. It requires an active and compassionate community like the one on the Upper Delaware to ensure everyone can continue to safely enjoy the exceptional recreational opportunities of this river,” says Superintendent Lindsey Kurnath, “The Water Safety Challenge Coin Award is just one way we can recognize and celebrate the important work community members do to keep river users safe.”
Members of the public and partners can submit nominations on the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River website. The park accepts and reviews nominations on a continuous basis. For more information or to make a nomination, please see www.nps.gov/upde/getinvolved/upde-water-safety-award.htm.
