As the oldest, continuously running, professional summer theatre in New York State, the Playhouse draws talent from across the country to mount top-notch productions, cabaret performances, offer arts education programs, develop new works and so much more.
Highlights of the 2025 Season include:
Boeing Boeing – June 17-22
Kick off the summer with Boeing Boeing, a mile-high comedy classic! Follow Bernard, a Parisian bachelor juggling three fiancées who are all flight attendants. Chaos ensues when they all end up in Paris at the same time. With plenty of laughs and an intricate plot, Boeing Boeing promises to soar as the ultimate comedy of the season. “This play soars right out of its time zone and into some unpolluted stratosphere of classic physical comedy.” – The New York Times.
Next to Normal – June 24-29
An emotionally gripping, award-winning musical that explores the complexities of mental health within a suburban family. Winner of three Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize, Next to Normal is a powerful story of love, resilience, and family ties, told through an unforgettable rock score.
The Full Monty – July 1-13
The hit comedy The Full Monty follows six down-and-out men as they take drastic (and humorous) steps to make ends meet. Full of heart and humor, this ten-time Tony Award nominee is an upbeat, feel-good story of camaraderie and courage.
Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein – July 15-27
The legendary Mel Brooks brings Young Frankenstein to life in this zany musical comedy that has something for everyone: laughs, wacky tunes, and, of course, a misunderstood monster. Join us for a hilarious spin on this classic tale.
Disney’s Newsies – July 29-August 10
Broadway Hit, Newsies tells the inspiring true story of the Newsboys Strike of 1899, where a group of underdogs become unlikely heroes. With music by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Harvey Fierstein, Newsies is a must-see for families, musical lovers, and anyone looking for a great time!
Head Over Heels – August 12-24
Featuring the iconic songs of the Go-Go’s, Head Over Heels is a raucous musical comedy that follows a royal family’s quest to save their kingdom. With 80s classics like We Got the Beat and Vacation, this production is a high-energy celebration of love and self-discovery.
The Cottage – August 26-31
Closing the summer season with a comedy twist, The Cottage is a side-splitting play that brings a modern sensibility to the skirmishes of love and marriage. Set in an English countryside cottage, the story unfolds with unexpected guests and comic entanglements in this fresh, clever farce.
As always, the Playhouse will offer its Family Fun Production, this year featuring Shrek the Musical, running Thursdays and Saturdays beginning in July.
