The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library is the community's favorite place to meet, to learn and to discover. The Library connects people to each other and to the world.
The library is home to the literary landmark Vera's Story Garden, a beautiful outdoor garden with a mosaic chair dedicated to the memory of award-winning children's book author Vera B. Williams. We are also home to Monticello's first civic mural. The library is host to over 50 programs a month for children, teens & adults and we pride ourselves on being the heart of our community. Whether you enjoy local history, musical performances, tarot readings, craft classes, writers groups, book clubs, volunteering, or even indoor nerf wars, the library has got something to offer for you. Check out our website for more information on upcoming programs.
Library has books, movies, magazines, video games, discovery kits, audio books, e-books, large print books, newspapers and more for your borrowing. We also provide tech help and high-speed internet access. Printing, copying, scanning services are available as well.
Don't have a library card? No problem. Just bring your photo ID and proof of residence in Forestburgh, Thompson, Monticello or Bethel to our circulation desk to get your own library card and take avantage of all that the library has to offer for free.
