The Business Development Specialist will create and book reservations in addition to fielding inquiries.  The Specialist role will be responsible to assist to carry out the marketing and revenue generation plan for School Programs, Group and Family Retreats, Team-Building and the non-summer reservations for our East Valley Ranch, Tokyo.  Selling the Frost Valley experience to groups, schools and families is the key measurement of success.  A strong understanding of educational, recreational and conference style programs is required and experience in a camp setting is a bonus.  The Specialist will work to ensure that the non summer programs will meet or exceed our departmental revenue goals by tending to the inquiry logs, focusing on customer contact, and executing a sales and marketing plan.   

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Take reservations for the following programs: Group and Family Retreats, Outdoor School Programs, Team Building, East Valley Ranch, and Tokyo Partnership.
  • Answer phones daily and take guest questions about their reservation.
  • Enter information about reservations into the database.
  • Have proactive communication with guests about deposits, balances, COI, transportation and other trip details.
  • Process payments and insure fiscal accuracy.
  • Be a driving force for revenue generation at Frost Valley YMCA fielding incoming inquiries. 
  • Point person and manager for incoming leads for groups from Salesforce- track conversion and response rates. 
  • Create proposals and send Marketing materials to prospects.
  • Convert leads to bookings.  Focus on sales and successful conversions.
  • Re-connect to leads that have not booked with us in the future.  
  • Assist with group retention efforts and outreach.
  • Be willing to have flexible work hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of three years working in sales, marketing or customer service industries
  • Experience working in recreational or camp settings preferred but not required
  • Proven success with group recruitment and retention, revenue generation, and budget management
  • Strong customer service background
  • Strong computer skills and experience with programs such as Word/Excel, Camp Brain, Salesforce or have the ability to master these key programs
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Be a strong leader and be able to work well with a team of others
  • Be able to multitask and handle pressure well

Salary Description
$40,768.00 to $45,000.00
