The Mission of Leadership Sullivan
To develop informed and committed leaders from all segments of the community who will apply their collective experience and skills to serve, strengthen and improve the quality of life for all Sullivan County residents.

Our Purpose
The Leadership Sullivan program is designed to recruit and develop responsive leadership in order to meet the challenges facing Sullivan County today, as well as in the future. Our success in meeting the challenges before us depends upon the active involvement of informed, dedicated citizens who have the ability and the desire to assume positions of leadership. The Leadership Sullivan program identifies current and future community leaders and provides them with the background.

Our Goals

• Identify, motivate and develop community leaders.
• Expand the leadership potential of participants through: educational programs designed to broaden individuals’ knowledge of Sullivan County and the issues affecting its citizens; exposure to existing leadership and civic organizations; in-depth discussions of relevant issues with experts.
• Improve communication among leaders.
• Provide a channel for participants to gain access to leadership opportunities and become involved in the development of solutions for community problems.
• Foster a commitment to a life of community service.

Applications will be reviewed by the selection committee and applicants will be notified by September 1. The opening retreat session is scheduled for mid-September and is an overnight stay at the Villa Roma. Each class is limited in size and only a portion of the applicants will be admitted each year. Those candidates who are not accepted are encouraged to reapply in subsequent years.
