Forestburgh Playhouse Announces Local Auditions for Summer Season 2017!

KIDS, TEENS AND ADULTS NEEDED!

WHAT: Auditions for 2017 Summer Productions at the Forestburgh Playhouse!

WHEN: Sunday, February 19th from 1pm-6pm

WHERE: Seelig Theater at SUNY Sullivan.  112 College Rd, Loch Sheldrake, NY 12759

WHO: KIDS!  Seeking boys and girls, ages 6-13 to audition for: (a) ensemble in Dreamworks Madagascar, a Musical Adventure; (b) Flounder, and ensemble/sea creatures in Disney’s The Little Mermaid; (c) ensemble and some featured roles in Newsies!;
(d) Randolph in Bye Bye Birdie. 

TEENS/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ages 14-18 for: (a) ensemble/sea creatures in The Little Mermaid; (b) ensemble in Newsies; (c) ensemble and Teen Chorus plus some featured roles in Bye Bye Birdie!; and (d) ensemble in Madagascar. 

ADULT MALE and FEMALE CHARACTER ACTORS: for the roles in: (a) Funny Girl: Florence Ziegfeld, Mrs. Strakosh, Mrs. Meeker, Mrs. O’Malley, Mr. Keeney, and Mr. Renaldi; (b) Ensemble/Sailors in Disney’s The Little Mermaid; (c) in Newsies: The Mayor, Hannah, Seitz, Bunsen, Mr. Jacobi; (d) in Bye Bye Birdie: Mrs. Mae Peterson, The Mayor, The Mayor’s Wife, Mrs. Merkle, Gloria Rasputin, ensemble; and in (d) Crazy For You: Everett Baker.

ADULT AND HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE STUDENTS: Over the age of 16 who sing and move well for possible ensemble roles in all shows!

Producer, Franklin Trapp is thrilled to announce that the Forestburgh Playhouse will hold auditions on Sunday, February 19th from 1PM-6PM at the Seelig Theater located at SUNY Sullivan Community College in Loch Sheldrake for local children, teens, high school students and adults interested in performing in this summer’s productions. “We have a huge number of opportunities this summer for local performers of all ages here at the Playhouse.  This summer in particular, we are looking for a lot of teens to perform in our production of Bye Bye Birdie.  We are also looking for younger performers for our productions of The Little Mermaid, Madagascar, and Newsies! Working at the Playhouse is an amazing opportunity for young performers to learn from professional actors in a professional environment.  Trapp added, “there are a good deal of amazing character roles available for local adult/character actors too!  For adults that enjoy acting, the Playhouse is a great place to get those creative juices flowing.”  All performers auditioning should prepare a musical selection and/or have a brief monologue ready.  An accompanist will be provided.  Additional information about the Forestburgh Playhouse summer 2017 season and other audition information are available online at www.fbplayhouse.org/local-actors.
